Use the actual tools and tasks of the audience

The training needs of a purchasing team differ from those of customer support or household internet users. Scenarios should reflect the messages and approvals people genuinely encounter.

Short exercises can cover changed bank details, false technical support and executive impersonation. The essential outcome is knowing which independent channel to use.

Encourage timely reporting without blame

People are more likely to report an accidental click if they expect constructive assistance rather than punishment. Early reporting can reduce the consequences of an incident.

A completed course does not establish that controls work. Follow up by observing whether the reporting process and approval rules are applied.

Practical checks

  • Base examples on real workflows
  • Provide an obvious reporting contact
  • Repeat exercises when processes change
  • Use feedback to improve procedures

Review behaviour rather than quiz scores alone

AI-generated teaching examples should be reviewed so that inaccurate explanations are not taught as facts.
